Criminal Case Launched Following Stabbing Incident in Gyumri

A criminal case has been initiated regarding a stabbing incident that occurred in Gyumri on the evening of March 11. This information was provided to Armenpress by the Shirak region prosecutor, Gurgin Grigoryan.

The case was opened under Article 112, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, which pertains to causing serious harm to health with intent. A decision has been made to recognize the individual as a victim.

Currently, there is no suspect in the case. According to the prosecutor, urgent investigative and procedural actions are being carried out, and operational investigative measures are being undertaken.

The stabbing occurred in the Ani neighborhood, where the son and daughter-in-law of the owner of one of the local cafes were attacked in their own apartment. They were transported to the Gyumri Medical Center and later to Yerevan.

The husband was admitted to the Gyumri Medical Center with stab wounds to the abdomen and chest, characterized as penetrating injuries. He underwent surgery and is currently in the surgical unit, with a stable condition. The wife was taken to the hospital with multiple stab wounds to her left upper limb, alongside injuries to the flexor tendons of her second and third fingers.
