The Republic Will Be Under the Influence of a Powerful Cyclone, The Ministry of Emergency Situations Reports
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia reports that on March 11-12, the republic will be under the influence of a powerful cyclone. Snow is expected in mountainous and pre-mountainous areas on March 11, and throughout the entire territory of the republic on March 12, with intensified snowfall in some areas, and blizzard conditions expected in the mountain regions with low horizontal visibility.
"In the central mountainous and pre-mountainous regions of the republic, an increase in snow cover of 40-50 cm is expected on March 11-12. Due to the clearing of the weather and a sharp drop in temperature on the night and morning of March 13, almost all roads in the republic are expected to be icy; drivers are urged to exercise caution," the statement said.
On March 10 during the day, and from the 13th to the 15th, dry weather is expected across the territory of the republic. Precipitation is anticipated throughout the republic on March 11-12, with snow expected in the mountainous and pre-mountainous areas on the 11th, and throughout the republic on the 12th. Wind will be from the southwest at 5-10 m/s, with expected gusts of 15-20 m/s in certain areas on March 12. The air temperature during the day on March 11-12 will decrease by 8-10 degrees, and by another 9-10 degrees on the night of the 13th.
In Yerevan, dry weather is expected during the day on March 10, and from the 13th to the 15th. Intermittent precipitation is anticipated on March 11-12, with mixed rain and snow on the 11th, and snow on the 12th.
