Edmon Marukyan: Those Against Early Elections Are Also Against the Armed Forces
The President of the Republic has approached the Constitutional Court to challenge the provisions of the law that served as the basis for the dismissal of Onik Gasparyan, and now the ball is in the court of the Constitutional Court. This was stated by Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the Bright Armenia faction, during a press briefing with journalists at the National Assembly. He added that if the law is found unconstitutional, the decree will also be declared unconstitutional.
Addressing the LHK's proposal to hold parliamentary elections, Marukyan noted that it has been left unanswered and is already outdated. According to him, there will no longer be a memorandum, and any new proposal will be announced only after discussions in the party's governing council.
"The agenda of holding early elections will be a priority in our country; there is no debate about that. It will be interesting to see what those who supported Onik Gasparyan but opposed early elections will say now. Whoever is against holding early elections is also against the Armed Forces," he emphasized, adding that if there are no early elections, the country will plunge into a deep crisis.
