Investigation Concluded in Case Against Vazgen Manukyan, Says Vardevanyan
The Investigative Committee has announced the conclusion of the investigation into the case against Vazgen Manukyan, the first Prime Minister of Armenia, characterizing it as a matter of political triviality and disgrace.
Aram Vardevanyan, the lawyer representing Manukyan, shared this update on his Facebook page. “I will request to close this political case, as it has no connection to the criminal code whatsoever. I will provide additional information regarding developments soon,” Vardevanyan wrote.
He also reminded the public that during April-May 2018, the same law enforcement system failed to observe any criminal components in the actions of 1) prosecuting and pressuring parliament members and 2) the declarations and actions of ‘Either I will be Prime Minister, or there will be no Prime Minister in Armenia.’”
