Deputy Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff Involved as a Defendant in Criminal Case

The Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Andranik Makaryan, has been involved as a defendant in a criminal case being investigated by the Military Investigative Main Department of the RA Investigative Committee.

In response to a query from Armenpress, the head of the Public Relations Department of the RA Prosecutor General's Office, Arevik Khachatryan, confirmed this information.

“At this time, additional information regarding the content of the criminal case and the charges cannot be provided due to the legal principle of confidentiality in preliminary investigations,” Khachatryan stated.
