The Border is Under Reliable Control: Governor of Tavush

The Governor of Tavush, Hayk Chobanyan, addressed the recent controversial statement by former Prime Minister Hrant Bagratyan and various rumors regarding the Tavush borders during an appearance on Public Television today.

“In Tavush, the tensions have somewhat calmed down today because we were able to convey to the people through various sources that all of this is falsehood. I consider this to be immoral; sacrificing the people's tranquility and peace for personal political affirmation,” said the governor. He emphasized that the situation in Tavush and the entire border zone remains unchanged compared to previous days or years. “The border is under reliable control by the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. Fortunately, there is peace at the border, and people are engaged in their daily lives and work,” he reassured, reiterating that the information regarding border demarcations is “completely false.”
