Pashinyan Promises to Resign on March 9 or 10
In recent days, the political spotlight has been on the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Onik Gasparyan, and the public demand from him and several other high-ranking officers for the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
According to the newspaper 'Fact', Pashinyan has promised during separate meetings, including with military circles, to resign on March 9 or 10, after which extraordinary elections should be organized.
Sources reveal that Pashinyan has actually assured that he will resign on March 9, when the decision to dismiss Onik Gasparyan will take effect, and when, essentially, he sees no threat from the army. He plans to conduct early elections in May.
However, both the military leadership and political experts are, to put it mildly, skeptical about Pashinyan's intentions. On the other hand, the prevailing opinion is that if early elections are conducted under this government, an unprecedented amount of administrative resources will be utilized, and the election results will be tampered with.
