Aliyev: If Work Had Not Been Done in This Field, Difficulties Could Have Arisen in the Second Karabakh War

The Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, has released excerpts from a speech by the President of Azerbaijan at the 7th Congress of the "New Azerbaijan" party held on March 5, 2021.

“These are excerpts from the speech of the President of Azerbaijan at the 7th Congress of the 'New Azerbaijan' party on March 5, 2021. This speech raises a direct question: who is actually speaking the language of fascism, and how can there be peace in these conditions when the country's president proudly emphasizes that an entire generation is filled with hatred towards Armenia and its people?

“The young generation grew up (...) with a sense of hatred towards the enemy, and it is this young generation that liberated our lands from the occupiers.”

“Now, Armenia is in a state of isolation, while we have built very effective friendly and warm relations with our neighbors, and that was also preparation. I want to state openly: if work had not been done in this field, difficulties could have arisen in the Second Karabakh War. Armenia isolated itself. That is, we isolated them from all regional projects, oil and gas programs, we destroyed their economy, and we can say this with pride. Any independent economic expert can say that the main factor is us. We turned Armenia into an uncertain, unstable country with no future. Demographic issues have arisen there, which led to limitations in the economic market.”

“Now, Armenia is trying to hinder the operation of the Zangezur corridor, but they will not succeed. We will achieve all our goals just as we drove them out of our lands,” he stated.
