The Consequence of Hayk Marutyan's Inaction: Twelve Thousand Children Unable to Enroll in Kindergarten

The question of enrolling children in kindergarten has become a real headache for parents. For over a year, no admissions have been organized in kindergartens. The 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper has learned that the staff of administrative districts are anxiously waiting to see when Mayor Hayk Marutyan will benevolently show up to work and sign the decision regarding the organization of additional kindergarten admissions.

In other words, the document is on the mayor's desk, but he is not present to sign it. The thing is, by the mayor's decision, additional admissions need to be organized so that those who have registered online can attend kindergarten. We found out that parents have been bothering the administrative district staff daily about this issue.

Incidentally, according to some estimates, there are more than 12,000 registered children waiting for their turn. It turns out that for over a year, the municipality has been unable to resolve the issue of building conditions; after all, additional spots need to be added in kindergartens to maintain social distancing and follow anti-epidemic rules due to the coronavirus situation.

It should be noted that the government has set new conditions for schools and universities during the quarantine, but has forgotten about kindergartens. Many parents during this time have had to send their children to private kindergartens, where prices start from 70,000 drams, or have lost their jobs to take care of their children.

This information is reported by the 'Zhoghovurd' newspaper.
