Iran's Security Forces Prevent Plane Hijacking

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has announced that its security units prevented a hijacking of a plane flying from Ahvaz to Mashhad. According to “Armenpress,” citing Pars Today, an Iran Air Fokker 100 passenger plane was operating a flight from Ahvaz Airport to Mashhad.

During the flight, one of the passengers attempted to seize control of the aircraft but was neutralized by IRGC forces. The plane made an emergency landing in Isfahan, and the perpetrator was arrested.

Preliminary information suggests that the hijacker intended to land the plane at an airport in one of the countries along the southern coast of the Persian Gulf.
