Get Ready and Remember When Nikol Started Talking About Early Elections: Mikayel Minasian

The elections, which will receive approval from the domestic political collaborators, are legitimizing Nikol's reproduction through subservient parties. This was stated by Mikayel Minasian, former ambassador of Armenia to the Holy See, on his Telegram channel.

“Let’s decentralize the chaos Nikol created regarding the elections:

1. Get ready and remember when Nikol started talking about early elections. It was when the opposition was strong, the memory of capitulation was fresh, and the mandates were hiding in the homes of friends and acquaintances. Then, when the opposition’s activity declined, Nikol decided that the people no longer wanted elections. And now, when the General Staff supported the people, it suddenly turned out that the same people unexpectedly and abruptly wanted elections. The elections are the false agenda of a capitulator, thrown into the arena with the purpose of transforming the power struggle into political trade.
2. The primary, most important condition for Nikol during the pre-election period is to be in power. His thesis is as follows: we are the only authority that has conducted the only free elections in the history of independent Armenia. But those were Nikol’s demigod elections. Now, demigod Nikol is perceived by everyone as a capitulator, traitor, and thus untrustworthy. A leader who shamefully exploits the criminal world, the entire administrative resource, and state and oligarchic funding to organize a pathetic performance in public. He did not need to falsify the elections of 2018. The possible elections in 2021 are vital. Remember Levon Ter-Petrosyan, popularly elected in 1990, and the shameful elections of 1995 and 1996.
3. Who is he discussing the election issues with? With 2 factions of the National Assembly? With all due respect to these parties and their leaders, they do not represent the people. The people were killed in the war, the people are treating the wounded, searching for the missing, and hoping to return the captives. The people are being lied to and are wanted to be forced, through truth or deception, to reproduce Nikol’s power. The people appointed Nikol as prime minister in 2018, and now they are licking the wounds that Nikol inflicted on them. I reiterate, with all due respect to the parliamentary opposition, they, along with Nikol's miserable ones, do not represent the entire population nor the whole political spectrum.

Here’s why I said all this: the elections to be organized and managed by Nikol are a distortion of the idea of free expression. The date set for the elections by Nikol is an opportunity for him to buy time. The elections that will receive approval from the domestic political collaborators are legitimizing Nikol’s reproduction through subservient parties. They will not be elections but complicity in the usurpation of power. And, it seems, everyone understands that already,” wrote Mikayel Minasian.
