Equipment Removed: Vorotan Mayor on Azerbaijani Side Digging Trenches

Following a report from the municipal government, the works have been halted, and the equipment has been removed. Suren Ohanyan, the head of the Vorotan community, stated this in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.

When asked who intervened to stop the works on the Azerbaijani side, the community leader found it difficult to answer but did not rule out Russian intervention.

“I don’t rule anything out; it is clear that if someone in our Armenia is doing something, our friendly country intervenes,” he said.

It should be recalled that on March 3, Goris Vice Mayor Irina Yolyan posted on her Facebook page, announcing that the enemy has begun engineering works in Vorotan. She alerted that the tranquility and peaceful life of the villagers were disturbed and threatened.

The day after the vice mayor's post, in response to a question from 168.am, the National Security Service indicated that the Azerbaijani side was carrying out work aimed at ensuring security in their placement areas and that there was no reason for concern.
