Who Will Be Exempt from Military Service? Changes Announced by 'Zhamanak'

'Zhamanak' newspaper reports that the government is planning to amend its decisions, allowing foreigners between the draft age of 18-27, regardless of nationality, to be exempt from mandatory military service if they acquire Armenian citizenship and participate in national team activities.

Many foreigners, including those of Armenian descent, have often declined to obtain Armenian citizenship and join the national teams due to the requirement of military service upon obtaining citizenship.
