Our Desire is for Armenia to Stay Away from a Coup: Supporter of the 'Gray Wolves'
The political wing of the 'Gray Wolves', Devlet Bahçeli, the leader of Turkey's Nationalist Movement Party, delivered a speech on March 2 during a parliamentary group meeting, addressing developments within Armenia, as reported by ermenihaber.am.
Bahçeli referenced the Khojaly events, fully presenting the Turkish-Azerbaijani propaganda narratives. Speaking about Armenia and its internal developments, the Turkish party leader made baseless claims, labeling Armenia as a 'terrorist and puppet state'.
'Last week’s call by the army for the Prime Minister to resign was actually a manifestation of an expected outcome. Moreover, protesters stormed the government building yesterday to force Pashinyan to resign,' Bahçeli stated.
Reiterating similar statements made by Turkish officials, he insisted that they wish for democracy to prevail in all countries, even when it comes to Armenia. Bahçeli advised Armenia to exhibit calmness and rationality.
Continuing his speech, he expressed, 'Our desire is for Armenia to stay away from a coup and to be closer to democracy. Even in the case of our enemy, we will not lose our nobility; we will not strike down the fallen. We are the Turkish nation, we are Turkey.'
