Earthquake with a Magnitude of 6.9 Hits Central Greece

On March 3, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.9 occurred 21 kilometers southwest of the small town of Elassona, located in central Greece, north of the larger city of Larissa. This was reported by the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre.

Initially, the magnitude was reported as 5.9, but it was later revised to 6.9. The depth of the epicenter was also adjusted from 10 kilometers to 2 kilometers.

According to available information, the earthquake was strongly felt in Larissa and surrounding areas, as well as in many other regions of the country, from Athens to Thessaloniki. After the strong tremor, aftershocks followed. As of now, there have been no reports of casualties or damage, as reported by TASS.
