We Will Visit Nagorno-Karabakh at the First Opportunity, Turkish Culture and Tourism Minister

The Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, received Azerbaijani counterpart Anar Karimov in Ankara, who was there to participate in the Turkey-Azerbaijan Mixed Cultural Commission meeting. Following their bilateral meeting, Ersoy reiterated Turkish-Azerbaijani narratives regarding the recent Nagorno-Karabakh war, stating that 'liberating Karabakh from occupation' remains their greatest consolation concerning the casualties suffered by Azerbaijan.

At the press conference, Ersoy mentioned, 'At the first opportunity, I will visit Azerbaijan. I will also visit Nagorno-Karabakh.' He discussed deepening cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of culture, particularly in film production, noting that Turkey has achieved great success in producing television series and currently ranks second in the world in their export.

It should be noted that over the past 10-15 years, domestically produced series, especially historical dramas, have become an unprecedented propaganda tool for Ankara. These artistically styled historical series often present the Ottoman Empire in an inaccurate yet favorable light through the distortion of facts. Other series promote Turkish culture, cuisine, language, and tourist attractions, among others.
