New Details Emerge About the Tragic Accident of Father Kyuregh in Kotayk Province: It Turns Out the Driver Was Another Priest

New circumstances have emerged regarding the tragic car accident that occurred on March 1 in Kotayk Province. According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, it has been revealed that the Ople Zafira, which rolled about 100 meters down a ravine, was driven by 62-year-old Yakobik M., a resident of Yerevan and a priest of the 'Holy Catholic' Church.

As a result of the accident, one of the passengers, 74-year-old Lura O. from Yerevan, was taken to the 'Charentsavan' medical center with bodily injuries alongside the driver, while another passenger, 74-year-old G. Talayan, died on the spot.

As previously reported from the scene by the photojournalist, a tragic accident occurred on March 1 in Kotayk Province due to ice on the road. Around 08:30, the Ople Zafira vehicle veered off the road along the Yerevan-Sevan highway at the 30 km mark, collided with concrete barriers, and flipped upside down while rolling about 100 meters down a ravine.

According to on-site reports by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, one person died at the scene, while another was transported to the 'Charentsavan' medical center. Emergency services from the Kotayk regional emergency management department arrived at the scene with one firefighting unit.

Rescuers carried the body on a stretcher about 1 km to the ambulance that arrived swiftly from the Charentsavan medical center. Officers from the 3rd platoon of the 2nd squad of the Road Police, led by platoon commander Arsen Mardoyan, deputy commander Haik Davtyan, squad commander Artur Petrosyan, and team commander Sarkis Bagratyan, also arrived at the scene.
