Our People Can No Longer Do What They Used to, Says Senor Hasratyan

“Our people can no longer do what they used to; instead, they are forced to be hostages to those who are capable of sacrificing our collective interests for their narrow personal gains, putting into question the existence of the Armenian people in their own land, which has a millennia-long history,” former spokesperson of the Defense Army Senor Hasratyan wrote on his Facebook page.

He added, “As much as I want to behave as I did in the past, I find it difficult... I find it difficult because if, in the past (up until April 2018), I could see and feel even the few significant achievements, today I am convinced that all of this is irretrievably disappearing day by day... It is not disappearing because our people can no longer do what they used to; rather, they are forced to be hostages of those who are capable of sacrificing our common interests for their narrow personal interests and putting into question the existence of the Armenian people in their own land.”

“P.S. I thought the same 33 years ago on the day when, with the criminal tolerance of the communist regime and in the neutral silence reminiscent of the international community's indifference, people were being killed in Sumgait solely because they were ARMENIANS... There is almost no difference between yesterday's and today's events, and if there is a difference, it lies in the fact that, in addition to our traditional external enemy, we now have an equally unbearable internal enemy...”
