Armen Sarkissian's Call

The President of Armenia, Armen Sarkissian, stated in a recent announcement: "The events of March 1, 2008, which resulted in innocent victims, are a source of pain for all of us. Political struggle should not go beyond the framework of legality, nor should it lead to turmoil and instability. Conflicts should not turn into an atmosphere of intolerance and mutual hatred, let alone confrontation and division.

I once again call on everyone for tolerance and solidarity. We need unity and solidarity! Especially today, cohesion and tolerance are vital for our state and our people.

On behalf of President Armen Sarkissian, flowers were laid this morning at the statue of Myasnikyan to pay tribute to the victims of the tragic events of March 1, 2008."
