FIDE on Aronian's Decision

The Armenian grandmaster Levon Aronian's news about leaving Armenia to move to the USA has also been commented on by the International Chess Federation (FIDE).

“A player can represent the country and federation where they reside. This does not mean that they have changed their nationality,” said a FIDE representative in an interview with Reuters.

Earlier, it was reported that the president of the United States Chess Federation also responded to Aronian's news of relocating to the USA.
