Police Chief Refuses to Meet with Protesters; March Participants Head to NSS
On behalf of the Police Chief, it was conveyed to the opposition representatives that Vahe Ghazaryan would meet with them, but not today. The gathered crowd hoped to receive a response today regarding the unlawful actions of the police that would no longer be repeated.
Coordinator of the Homeland Salvation Movement, Ishkhan Saghatelyan, stated that it is clear that the police chief cannot provide an explanation for the illegal actions taken under his command. “We have two paths: we can direct the people's anger at you and your boss, but we are still giving you a chance and an opportunity. We will do this when necessary. Next time it happens, you will face consequences; understand that as you wish. We are now heading against the NSS and will join our citizens who are currently protesting in various streets.” Saghatelyan added, “Police Chief, the blame is on you.”
It is worth mentioning that the march participants were in front of the Police Department. They demanded that the police chief come forward and explain why the police used disproportionate force against citizens in front of the Government's third building. The march participants had given the police chief 15 minutes to respond.
