Pashinyan Responds to Kocharian's Statement: If I WereThere Would Be No War

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the statement made by the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharian, regarding the recent war in an interview with 1in.am. Kocharian claimed that if he were the leader of the country, this war would not have happened and we would not have faced such a defeat.

“What I’m saying may sound a bit ridiculous, but anyone who was not the leader of Armenia in September, October, or November of 2020 can say the same thing. And no one can prove the opposite,” Pashinyan stated. “Should we ask? Anyone, regardless of their biography, name, or surname, can say: ‘If I were there, Azerbaijan would not dare to attack. We would not suffer a defeat,’ and so on, and so forth. But we also need to truly understand the profound origins of this defeat. It’s very good if this is a defeat that arose in two years or two months; let’s record it and prove that.”
