Belarus Ready to Invest Efforts in Supporting the Return of Prisoners of War
The Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan, has received the newly appointed Ambassador of Belarus to Armenia, Alexander Konyuk. The information was reported by the National Assembly of Armenia's website.
Congratulating the ambassador on his appointment, the Speaker expressed confidence that the ambassador would contribute to the deepening of the partnership relations between Armenia and Belarus. Referring to the cessation of hostilities in Artsakh, Mirzoyan stated that for the full implementation of the trilateral statement, it is necessary for the Azerbaijani side to return all prisoners of war and other detained persons as soon as possible.
Ambassador Konyuk, thanking for the reception, assured that he is ready to expend all efforts to enhance Armenian-Belarusian relations. He emphasized the importance of maintaining the ceasefire agreement in Artsakh and assured that Belarus is prepared to invest its efforts in supporting the return of prisoners of war.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues concerning the activation of cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries in both bilateral and multilateral platforms.
