Why Search Operations Have Been Halted: Explanation from the Artsakh President's Spokesperson
The search operations have been suspended indefinitely. This has been reported by the Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs and Emergency Situations.
"Search operations have not been conducted since February 15. The Azerbaijani side has again prohibited rescue and search operations in areas outside of Artsakh's control without providing any commentary today. This marks the first instance since the ceasefire that searches have been suspended for such an extended period," the statement released today noted.
It is worth mentioning that a total of 1,485 remains of military and civilian individuals have been discovered up to this point.
We tried to clarify with the spokesperson of the Artsakh president what actions are being taken to obtain explanations from the Azerbaijani side and to restore search operations. In an interview with Analitik.am, spokesperson Lusine Avanesyan said that efforts are being made to resume the search operations.
When asked what specific actions are being taken, Ms. Avanesyan refrained from disclosing all measures being implemented to achieve our collective goal.
