Major Car Accident in Kotayk Province: Truck Loaded with 20 Tons of 'Roshen' Candy Overturned

On February 21, a major car accident occurred in Kotayk Province. Around 15:20, a Mercedes truck with Georgian license plates left the roadway near the 51st km of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, close to the well-known Sevan colony, for reasons still unknown, collided with iron guardrails, and overturned.

According to photographer Gagik Shamshyan, who reported from the scene, fortunately, there were no injuries resulting from the accident. A team of doctors from the Hrazdan hospital arrived promptly, but the driver stated that he refused medical assistance.

The Emergency Situations Ministry's Kotayk regional rescue unit also arrived promptly on the scene with one fire engine. Additionally, officers from the 3rd platoon of the 2nd police battalion arrived under the command of Platoon Commander Arthur Petrosyan and Squad Commander Sargis Bagratyan.

At the scene, the investigation is being led by Senior Investigator Avetik Avetisyan from the same platoon, who is preparing materials regarding the incident. The police are working to establish the identity of the driver.

The photographer reports that the truck was loaded with 20 tons of 'Roshen' confectionery, which has spilled completely.
