Support for Artsakh Residents is Sufficient to Address Social Issues, Says Minister

Currently, there are 77 communities included in the list of border communities, and it is possible that an additional 5-6 communities will be added in the near future. This was stated by the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs during a conversation with reporters after a government meeting.

“Overall, the increase in the budget is up to 200 million drams. If we also account for the existing communities, the annual expenditure amounts to approximately 1 billion drams. The support provided to Artsakh residents is fully sufficient to address the social issues that have arisen during the war,” said Mesrop Arakelyan.

According to the minister, the state support provided to an average Artsakh family amounts to 320,000 drams. “At the same time, utility payments are reimbursed in Artsakh, and a specific compensation program for loans will also be approved in the near future. The first steps in the housing construction process in Artsakh will be clarified,” the minister reported.

Commenting on the families of prisoners of war, Mesrop Arakelyan mentioned that their relatives are receiving psychological support through the Ministry of Emergency Situations, while financial assistance is provided at a rate of 300,000 drams per month.
