Georgia's Ruling Party Proposes New Prime Minister Candidate

The ruling party of Georgia, "Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia," has nominated the country's Defense Minister Irakli Garibashvili as the candidate for Prime Minister following the resignation of Giorgi Gakharia. This was announced by the party's chairman Irakli Kobakhidze during a press briefing, as reported by Sputnik-Georgia.

“Today, a session of the political council of the party was held, during which a decision was made regarding the candidate for Prime Minister. As the chairman of the party, I confirm that the political council has unanimously decided to nominate Irakli Garibashvili for Prime Minister,” Kobakhidze stated.
