Dozens Arrested During Unrest in Spain
During protests against the arrest of rapper Pablo Hasél in Spain, nearly 50 people have been arrested. El Periodico reports that the rapper was convicted for glorifying terrorism and insulting the royal family.
Arrests took place in Madrid, Barcelona, and throughout Catalonia. There are casualties among both police and protesters.
The police have responded firmly to attempts to disrupt public order, using rubber bullets, batons, and tear gas against demonstrators. In retaliation, protesters have thrown stones at law enforcement officials.
It is noteworthy that the street unrest began after the rapper's arrest, prompting police to storm a university building in the Catalan city of Lleida to apprehend him.
