Details on the Murder of the Head of the Zangezur Copper-Molybdenum Combine Workshop

On February 18, 2021, around 01:00, the body of a 58-year-old resident was discovered in the basement of a building on Abovyan Street in Kajaran. The deceased exhibited numerous scratches and bruises on his head and other parts of his body, with his hands bound with adhesive tape.

Preliminary information indicates that at approximately 00:30 on February 18, 2021, an individual (or individuals) who committed the apparent crime inflicted bodily harm on the 58-year-old man and left him in the aforementioned building's basement. Subsequently, after unlawfully and intentionally depriving him of life, they entered his apartment in the same building and stole gold jewelry belonging to the victim's son, valued at around 5,000,000 AMD.

A criminal case has been initiated at the Syunik Regional Investigative Department under Article 104 (murder) of the RA Criminal Code, part 2, point 8. During the preliminary investigation, examinations of the crime scene and the body have been conducted, forensic and fingerprint examinations have been appointed, and several individuals have been interrogated. The investigative body has been tasked with identifying the alleged perpetrator(s) of the crime and presenting them to the prosecuting authority. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
