Which Highways Are Closed Due to Heavy Snow: The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure's Road Department

The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure's Road Department has announced that as of February 17th at 5:00 PM, snow is falling in the regions of Artik, Ashotzk, Spitak, Vanadzor, Stepanavan, Tashir, Hrazdan, Sevan, Gavar, Dilijan, Ijevan, Noyemberyan, and Meghri, while rain is observed in Martuni, Vayk, and Goris regions.

Due to heavy snowfall, the Dilijan bends are closed to vehicles with trailers, and other vehicles face significant difficulties in traversing the area. In the Vardenyats Pass, sleet is falling, making the roadway impassable for vehicles with trailers.

Owing to heavy snow and severe blizzard conditions, the Ttujur-Navur highway is closed to all types of vehicles. There is a blizzard on the highway from Vardaghbyur to Tsokhamarg in the Artik region. Fog is present on the Sisian and Goris highways, reducing visibility to 80-100 meters. There are patches of black ice on the Spitak and Stepanavan highways.

The other interstate and national highways are open. Road construction workers are conducting snow removal and treating road surfaces with salt and sand.
