Russia, Turkey, and Iran Issue Joint Statement on Syria
Following the 15th international meeting on the resolution of the Syrian crisis, Russia, Turkey, and Iran have issued a joint statement, as reported by ermenihaber.
The parties continue to emphasize the importance of establishing stability and peace in Syria, adding that the conflict does not have a military solution.
They condemned the ongoing military attacks by the Israeli army in Syrian territory. The Russian Federation, Turkey, and Iran have agreed to continue cooperation against the terrorist groups Islamic State (IS) and Jabhat al-Nusra.
Moscow, Ankara, and Tehran condemned the illegal appropriation and transfer of revenues obtained from the sale of Syrian oil, opposing foreign interference in the work of Syria's constitutional committee and the imposition of external deadlines for its completion.
The next international meeting on Syria in the Astana format will take place in Nur-Sultan in the middle of 2021.
