Bodies of 106 Soldiers Transferred by Azerbaijan are Unidentifiable

In the intersection of the communities of Karmir Shuka and Shekher in the Martuni region, Azerbaijan has transferred another 106 bodies of servicemen who died during military operations to the Armenian side. This was reported by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Artsakh.

Earlier, rescuers from Artsakh, led by the head of the State Emergency Service, Colonel Mekhak Arzumanyan, returned the bodies to Stepanakert. All of the bodies are unidentifiable. It is presumed that the soldiers had been buried previously, and the remains were transferred after exhumation from the regions of Varanda (Fizuli), Hadrut, and Jrakan (Jebrail).

Armenian Minister of Internal Affairs Karen Sargsyan visited the bureau of forensic examination in Stepanakert (commonly referred to as the morgue). The minister assured that every possible step is being taken towards the search for the deceased or missing servicemen, noting that negotiations will continue in the near future. He also expressed condolences to the parents of the fallen soldiers and wished them strength and patience to cope with the national grief.

It is noteworthy that the total number of bodies found as a result of searches or transferred by Azerbaijan since the ceasefire is 1,485.
