Attack on School: 42 People Abducted, Including 27 Students - RIA Novosti
At least 42 people, including 27 students, were abducted during an attack on one of the boarding schools in the Kagara area of Niger state, Nigeria. This information was reported by the Nation newspaper, referencing the state governor, as conveyed by RIA Novosti.
Following the incident, President Muhammadu Buhari has dispatched police and military units to the state to search for the abductees, while local authorities have ordered the closure of boarding schools in several areas.
Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello informed the media that armed individuals have kidnapped 27 schoolchildren, three school staff members, and 12 family members. One student has reportedly died as a result of the attack.
At the time of the assault, approximately 650 students were present at the school.
