Residents Forced to Share Their Fields and Gardens with the Enemy: Irina Yolyán

Irina Yolyán, the deputy head of the Goris community, wrote on her Facebook page: “I hope that the exclusion of the border communities of Khndzoresk and Karahunj from the social assistance program is merely a technical error. We cannot bring the enemy right under the noses of the residents and pretend that everything is fine. The residents of these communities are forced to share their fields and gardens with the enemy. In Khndzoresk, for instance, today an Azerbaijani is prohibiting a farmer from cultivating his own land.

In Khndzoresk, livestock needs to be taken for grazing, but where? The situation is the same in Karahunj, where people are raising alarms and speaking out about the unjust implementation of border demarcations. We are losing territories, and the enemy is standing just a few meters away; after all this, it turns out that these areas are not considered border regions. This unfair decision must be reviewed; let's accept that pouring salt on the wound is, for now, the result of ignorance.”
