Highway Closures in Armenia, Snowfall in Dilijan

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that there are closed highways in the territory of Armenia. The roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station to the Amberd Fortress and to Lake Kari are closed in the Aragatsotn region.

Meanwhile, it is currently snowing in Dilijan city of the Tavush region. Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.

According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia’s Emergency Situations Department and the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry’s North Ossetia crisis management center, the Stepantsminda-Lars highway is closed to all types of transport. There are approximately 490 trucks stranded on the Russian side.
