Serzh Sargsyan Reveals Why He Remained as Prime Minister of Armenia
We have never negotiated what we would give; we have always negotiated about what we would receive,” said former President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, in an interview with ArmNews.
He also discussed a conversation he had with the leader of one of the co-chair countries. The latter asked, “Serzh, can you honestly tell me what your goal is regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue? Do you want the problem to be resolved, or do you want to maintain the status quo?”
Sargsyan candidly responded that he wanted the issue to be resolved and did not wish to leave it on the shoulders of the next generations.
Furthermore, Sargsyan spoke about a certain working version when asked if he was ready to sign it if he remained in power. He noted that he was not only ready to sign but was specifically willing to remain the Prime Minister of Armenia to implement that version.
