10 People Hospitalized in Vanadzor Infectious Hospital with Preliminary Diagnosis of Intestinal Infection
Today, the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health reported that residents of Vanadzor have been hospitalized in the Vanadzor Infectious Diseases Hospital with a preliminary diagnosis of an intestinal infection. This information was provided by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
An epidemiological investigation revealed that on February 13, 14 people participated in a birthday celebration during which homemade cream pastries and a chicken dish were served. By February 15, at 20:30, a total of 10 individuals who attended the celebration were hospitalized with symptoms including general weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, and fever up to 38 degrees Celsius. Among them, 5 are under 18 years old and 5 are over 18 years old.
The patients' condition has been assessed as moderately severe. Other attendees of the celebration are reported to have no complaints.
Information on the case has been submitted to the Northern Territorial Center of the Health and Labor Inspection Body and to the Lori Regional Center of the Food Safety Inspection Body. Work is ongoing.
