Second Earthquake Registered Near Shorja Village

On February 15, at 23:31 local time (19:31 GMT), the seismic monitoring network of the Armenian Emergency Situations Ministry registered an earthquake at coordinates 40.52°N latitude and 45.32°E longitude, 4 km northeast of Shorja village in Gegharkunik Province, at a depth of 10 km, with a magnitude of 2.0 (aftershock).

The intensity of the underground tremors at the epicenter was recorded at 2-3 points. The earthquake (aftershock) was felt in the communities of Shoghakath and Chambarak with an intensity of 2-3 points.

It is worth reminding that earlier today, at 22:27 local time (18:27 GMT), the seismic network of the Armenian Emergency Situations Ministry registered an earthquake at coordinates 40.52°N latitude and 45.33°E longitude, 5 km northeast of Shorja village, at a depth of 10 km, with a magnitude of 3.3 (aftershock). The intensity of the underground tremors at the epicenter was recorded at 4-5 points.

This earthquake (aftershock) was felt in the community of Tzovagyugh and in the city of Gavar with an intensity of 3 points, and in the cities of Sevan, Abovyan, Dilijan, and Ijevan with an intensity of 2-3 points.
