The Rector of the Armenian-Russian Slavic University Appeals to Citizens

"I kindly ask you to cease the support actions and assure you that nothing threatens our university and the values we uphold," wrote Armen Darbinyan, the rector of the Armenian-Russian Slavic University, addressing the citizens on his Facebook page.

Darbinyan’s post reads as follows:

"Dear ones,
Esteemed citizens of the Republic of Armenia,
Esteemed Armenians of the Diaspora,
I express my deepest gratitude for the parade of love and dignity that has flooded the internet these days, directed towards me and the defense of university values. I even feel uncomfortable that such manifestations occur in response to a governmental clique that is inherently indifferent to such values. For this reason, I ask you to cease the support actions and assure you that nothing threatens our university and the values we stand for. As for the national disaster named Nikol Pashinyan, we will remove it constitutionally, but in the way he likes, with tweezers.

However, the head of the National Security Service, Mr. Abazyan, has something to do in the current situation. He has three options:

1. To provide a public explanation regarding the ultimatum presented to me;
2. To apologize to me privately for the exhibited short-sightedness;
3. To try to leverage pressure on me under the instruction of the Prime Minister's spokesperson, Ms. Mane.

I would like to say right away that, in terms of accelerating the elimination of the regime, I prefer the third option. Well, I'll see you all soon!"

It is important to note that Armen Darbinyan announced that Nikol Pashinyan has mobilized significant resources of his staff and the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports for the purpose of 'unjustifiably dismissing' him. After the aforementioned, professors and students of the Armenian-Russian University held a rally in front of the main building in support of Rector Armen Darbinyan.
