Car Fire on Yerevan-Sevan Highway
Today, February 12, an emergency incident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. Around 13:55, in the administrative territory of the village of Gagarin, at the 55th km of the Yerevan-Sevan highway, a fire broke out in a Grand Cherokee vehicle under still unknown circumstances.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, fortunately, there were no injuries reported. Firefighters from the Emergency Situations Ministry's 32nd fire and rescue squad arrived at the scene with two fire engines. With the assistance of local citizens, the firefighters extinguished the flames in the vehicle.
Responding quickly, officers from the 1st platoon of the 4th battalion of the Road Police also arrived, led by platoon commander Edgar Suslyan. The police are currently working to establish the identity of the driver. According to preliminary information, the car was parked at the time of the incident.
An operational group from the Sevan Police Department, headed by department chief Suren Janikyan, also arrived at the scene.
