Unknown Individual Assaults 39-Year-Old Man in Goris; Hospitalized with Gunshot Wound to Leg
The Investigation Committee of Armenia's Syunik region is preparing materials related to an incident reported on February 7. According to shamshyan.com, the Goris police received a call from the Goris Medical Center regarding a man brought in unconscious with a diagnosis of a "close complex fracture of the left femur." This occurred around 1:40 PM on that day.
Police and investigators determined that the injured individual is 39-year-old A.P. from the Syunik region. He recounted that he had gone for a walk in the area known as "Toskap" in Goris around 1:00 PM when he was struck in the face by an unknown individual and lost consciousness. After being transferred to the Goris Medical Center, it was revealed that he had sustained a gunshot wound to his leg.
While doctors were providing assistance, police and investigators discovered that he had been taken to the hospital by two residents of the Syunik region, 43-year-old Vardan Zh. and 32-year-old Arthur G., in a VAZ 2109 vehicle. The police and investigative division are undertaking necessary operational and investigative measures to identify the perpetrator(s) and recover the weapon used in the crime. A forensic medical examination has been ordered by the investigator.
