In Gegharkunik, Hospitalized Individuals Reported Falling from Stairs, Accident Confirmed

On February 9, a car accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. Around 14:10, in the 25 km stretch of the Sevan-Martuni-Getap road, 42-year-old Karen Vardanyan from Berdkunk village lost control of his 'Mitsubishi iO' vehicle under still unknown circumstances, veering off the roadway and overturning in a field, as reported by shamshyan.com.

As a result of the accident, his passengers, fellow villager 33-year-old A. Hakobyan and 7-year-old N.V., sustained injuries and were transported to the 'Gavar' medical center.

According to sources, the injured individuals claimed at the hospital that their injuries were due to falling from stairs. However, officers from the Gavar Police Department determined that this information was not accurate.

Traffic police also determined at the scene that the accident was caused by the driver of a 'Niva' vehicle creating a hazardous situation for the driver of the 'Mitsubishi.' This vehicle has also been located.
