Russian Tu-160s Conduct Planned Flights Over Neutral Waters
Two Russian Tu-160 strategic bombers have conducted planned flights over the neutral waters of the Barents, Greenland, and Norwegian Seas. This was announced to reporters on February 9 by the Russian Ministry of Defense, as reported by Armenpress.
"The two Tu-160 strategic bombers performed planned flights over the neutral waters of the Barents, Greenland, and Norwegian Seas. The duration of the flight was approximately 12 hours," the ministry stated.
They added that the bombers were accompanied by fighters from the Northern Fleet’s naval aviation. The ministry also reminded that long-range aviation pilots regularly conduct flights over neutral waters in the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black and Baltic Seas, and the Pacific Ocean.
"All flights of the Russian Aerospace Forces' aircraft are conducted in strict accordance with international law on the use of airspace," the defense ministry added, as reported by RIA Novosti.
