Which Roads Are Passable in Armenia?

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs that there are closed and difficult-to-pass roads in the territory of Armenia.

The Vardenyats Pass is impassable for trucks with trailers but accessible for all other vehicles. The roads leading from the ‘Amberd’ high mountain meteorological station in the Aragatsotn province to the Amberd Fortress and to the Kari Lake are closed.

In the Gegharkunik province, there are patches of black ice on the roads.

Regarding the Lars situation, according to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs Emergency Situations Department and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia branch of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Stepanavan-Lars road is open for all vehicles. There are about 390 stranded freight trucks on the Russian side.

Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
