The Opposition Must Become 'Worthy' of Nikol: Arpine Hovhannisyan
Former Minister of Justice of Armenia, Arpine Hovhannisyan, writes on her Facebook page: "The opposition must become 'worthy' of Nikol. Otherwise... A homeland that has lost a generation and a heartless country that has lost 3-4 MPs.
Today, one of their representatives hurled yet another heap of drivel across the pages of the press, from which a headline caught my eye: 'In this difficult situation, we lost only 3-4 MPs.' Normally, I do not respond to ordinary representatives of their faction, as I do not want to subject myself to intellectual vandalism or sabotage. After all, one traitor and his seemingly endless immoral thoughts are enough for a lifetime.
But I could not turn a blind eye to this one. Perhaps my soul was too hurt, and my indifferent gaze directed at the Facebook wall was not blind to this periodically emerging monstrous thought. This thought and the one that expresses it are a collective image of the moral character of Nikolism and Nikol, or rather, the total absence of such a character.
No, you see... For this anthropomorphic mass, the 'difficult situation' is the MPs who left the faction, about whom he speaks as if they are mere objects. We lost... objects, at a time when they resemble inanimate objects more than those who left, who tried to breathe air not soaked in blood.
For them, the difficult situation does not involve the battered Armenia and severed Artsakh, the de facto suspended state of Armenia's sovereignty, their vassal position under their master, the crumbling economy and the 'revolutionary' price hikes, the more than 5000 casualties, the more than 10000 maimed individuals, the thousands left homeless, the captives suffering in Azerbaijani prisons, or the families searching for the unburied remains of their children and awaiting DNA responses as if they were miracles...
For them, the difficulty lies in the group of anthropomorphic creatures necessary for the preservation of their wretched existence and senseless survival, from which a few objects are missing...
To be frank, I am not so naive as to think that any human factor could influence such a mass. They are all Nikolists—unprincipled, immoral, foolish, ruthless, liars, shameless, greedy, soulless, aimless, and homelandless. They will not be affected by what usually impacts the average moral Armenian.
Thus, it must be clear: symmetric responses are not influential. No matter how strange it may sound, one of the reasons for Nikol's temporary 'longevity' as a political corpse is surrounding himself with worthy objects. They are worthy of him by their characteristics.
After the fake bubble of the early elections, it is especially time for society as a whole, and for the opposition, military, intellectuals, clergy, security forces, and state apparatus to BECOME WORTHY. WORTHY of either the homeland or Nikol, WORTHY of honor or Nikol, WORTHY of your life or Nikol.
To become worthy, everyone must repent, reflect on their past actions, acknowledge their mistakes, draw conclusions, and understand... This little land is either ours or someone else's. Nikol behaves according to the WORTHY qualities of dishonor, disgust, betrayal, shamelessness, and mediocrity that we have attributed to him. He behaves as a... Nikol... which is his essence. He does what he is expected to do and a bit more.
And what about us? We do not uphold what we ought to feel worthy of—the pain, misfortune, vengeance, dignity, wrath, and the desire to save our homeland that is expected of us. We thought someone else would do it for us and that Nikol would leave. We thought he was a moral man and that he would leave after this disaster. We thought...
We must act in a way that we are worthy of the homeland we often mention, and the opposite 'worthy' Nikol.
P.S. I apologize to those I have ever offended or hurt by any act, step, or decision. If I seemed arrogant or was. Now I have one goal: to be worthy of the country in which I live, to be worthy of the people who love the land and wish to have a logical and harmonious country. Who do not seek power but desire a good country. May God protect you all."
