Now It Is Clear How That Happens: Stepan Danielyan

Political scientist Stepan Danielyan writes on his Facebook page: “During the genocide, when one village or one district was being massacred, the Armenians in another village or district thought that this did not concern them, but then it was their turn. They also thought that those were from the region of Mshak, others from the district of Shatak, some were Franks, some were sectarians... they were different, and they believed their turn would not come.

When you read about this, you would be astonished at that mindset. Now it is clear how this happens. And back then, there were also bastard men and women with a passive mentality who would say, ‘What can we do?’, and in the name of self-justification for the future, they hoped that they would say, ‘Well, we were innocent, we didn’t understand, we were deceived.’”
