Russian Peacekeepers Clear 1079 Hectares in Nagorno-Karabakh
Experts from the International Demining Center of the Russian Ministry of Defense have continued their efforts in demining and detecting explosive hazards in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to a report from the official website of the Russian Ministry of Defense, during the peacekeeping mission, approximately 1079 hectares of land and 280 kilometers of roads have been cleared.
Furthermore, 24,014 explosive devices have been discovered and neutralized.
The deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh was mandated by a decree from the President of the Russian Federation on November 10, 2020, with the force being primarily composed of the 15th separate motorized rifle brigade of the Central Military District. The commander of the peacekeepers is Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov.
