Who is Anush Beghloyan and what connection does she have with Turkey and Ararat Mirzoyan

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" writes: "For several days now, the Internet has been actively discussing Anush Beghloyan, a member of the parliament from the 'My Step' faction, who initially stated that it does not matter who started the Artsakh war, and later during a conversation with journalists referred to the city of Shushi as Shusha, then corrected herself.

"Zhoghovurd" conducted a small investigation to try to understand who Anush Beghloyan is, how she ended up in parliament, and, most importantly, whose interests she represents. According to her biography, prior to becoming a deputy, from 2005 to 2009 and since 2016, she was a lecturer at the French University of Armenia (business communication and public relations), from 2008 to 2014 she was the head of public relations at ArmenTel CJSC, from March to October 2014 she was the head of marketing and communication at the IDeA Foundation, and from 2015 to 2018 she served as the CEO of the Public Communication Laboratory LLC.

However, most importantly, Anush Beghloyan was in 2018 an international expert for the protection of interests of the Council of Europe’s Western Balkans and Turkey division in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is possible that the current deputy still knows what her previous job entailed and has forgotten that she is now a deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia and a servant of Armenia’s interests. It is worth noting that Beghloyan entered the National Assembly with the guarantee of the parliament's leader Ararat Mirzoyan, is considered his ally, and in parliamentary diplomacy, Beghloyan has always been given a pronounced advantage under Ararat Mirzoyan's directives.

In fact, Anush Beghloyan, who has received many foreign delegations in Armenia and made several visits, was a defender of Turkish interests before becoming a deputy. It is interesting whether the National Security Service of Armenia is aware of this, whether this is being monitored, or if it is normal to have a deputy serving Turkish interests in the National Assembly of Armenia.

Why do we make such claims? Because in the deputy’s official biography it is stated that in 2018 she was an international expert for the protection of interests of the Council of Europe’s Western Balkans and Turkey division in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it does not specify how long the protection of Turkish interests lasted, perhaps until today?

However, it is interesting that the deputy from My Step tried to refute and stated that her thoughts expressed during a regional online discussion were being distorted. "We must look forward, not return to the endless discussion of who was first, whose historical lands they are, because, as you know, there is no mention of Armenia in quotes from ancient historians and historical citations," Beghloyan said.

Opposition deputy Gevorg Gorgisyan from the Bright Armenia faction addressed the head of the ruling faction, Lilit Makunts, in a Facebook post, proposing to discuss the issue of revoking Beghloyan’s deputy mandate or at least limiting her participation in international conferences and parliamentary diplomacy, since "the thoughts expressed during the conference contradict the state interests of the Republic of Armenia and the principles of its foreign policy." Beghloyan herself characterized Gorgisyan’s post as unprofessional: "Mr. Gorgisyan, being an experienced deputy of two convocations and having a sufficiently good education, could not have misunderstood that such a statement should have a source reference, and not just contain words attributed to me from some media material."
