Family Receives Wrong Body of Slain Soldier Three Months After Burial

People who have lost their loved ones in war are not only dealing with a heavy blow and mourning but are also caught in horrifying stories, reports Hraparak.am.

The parents of a slain soldier were mistakenly given the body of another serviceman instead of their son, and they buried the wrong body. It later emerged that individuals involved in the identification of the bodies had mixed them up.

The incident took place in the community of Bazmabour in the Aragatsotn province. The parents buried what they thought was their son's body in November, but just three days ago, they received a call informing them that a mix-up occurred; the body buried in their son's grave did not belong to him, and they would need to exhume it to return it to its rightful owner.

To confirm this information, the news outlet contacted Khosrov Harutyunyan, the head of the Bazmabour community, who confirmed the details: “The body was brought without a DNA analysis; they saw the photograph and it was very similar. Now the relatives are searching for their son’s body; they have definitely brought the wrong body. The parents have also spoken with the owner of the body, and they have understood each other. Now they need to find their son’s body to bring it back for exhumation,” the community leader stated.
