Am I not allowed to wear a hat and glasses? Artashat's police chief on greeting Pashinyan as 'the people'

After a video of Nikol Pashinyan's visit in Artashat city circulating yesterday, people made revelations about the greetings. It was noted that there were recurring faces among those greeting Pashinyan, with one individual greeting him twice. Meanwhile, the police chief of Artashat, Davit Petrosyan, was seen wearing dark glasses and a hat, dressed in civilian clothes, greeting the Prime Minister as part of 'the people.'

We contacted Petrosyan to discuss his transformation. When asked how he would comment on his disguised appearance, he responded: "Yes, that was me. What’s there to be surprised about? But, what should I transform for? I have the right to perform my duties in civilian clothes, and I did so."

Was someone requested or suggested to act like this? "No, absolutely not. I am the head of that administrative area and I was fulfilling my duty. I don’t see anything surprising about wearing a hat or glasses. You know, I walk around, breathe, and eat. What’s the reason for being surprised about that? I don’t understand... When I’m serving in my administrative area, I greet the Prime Minister; what’s so perplexing about that? I don’t understand... where is it written that I am not allowed to carry out my duties in civilian clothes?"

A perception has been created that you organized a 'mass greeting' for the authorities, participating in that spectacle. "No, no, a very wrong impression has been created. I was doing my service. When the Prime Minister passed by, I waved. What’s wrong with that?" The article was published by the 'Hravar' newspaper.
